A proposal for a discussion thread

"The true cooperation between the human/earthly layers of consciousness and the higher/spiritual layers of ourselves, may begin. And the more people learn to apply this system of constant ‘self-dialogue’, the more light will spread on Earth."
U.S.Q.

Greetings All

My passion is studying cosmologies . . . doctrines, theories, myths and stories that seek to explain all that is. In the human record they are numerous and come in various shapes and sizes . . . ranging from the simple creation stories of the North American Indian to the elaborate visions of Swedenborg or the intricate layers of the Bhagva Gita. On closer inspection, these cosmologies reveal some threads of light and some threads of darkness. It was Toward the Light that provided me with the key to understanding how to discern one from the other and to understand that all of these works possess a certain validity because they were/are attempts to understand the world we live in - and our place in it.

In a contemporary sense, there are on-going light-inspired attempts to understand the universe we live in being documented in the sciences, in literature and in the arts . . . the amount of information is so vast that we must help each other to sift through the dross to find the jewels. I invite those people who have found threads of light in the music, literature, and visual arts to share their discoveries with each other here at Robert's GARDEN OF THE LIGHT internet cafe. Simple lists are O.K.

So Robert, how do I order a hot cup of coffee in this place? . . . J

The works I have found to be full of light and wisdom in accordance with Toward The Light, are "Letters of the Scattered Brotherhood" collected by Mary Strong, and "REturn to the Light" by Jaques Lusseyran, the story of his boyhood and youth. He was blinded as a child and tells of how he found the light inside, became leader of the resistance movement in the 2. World War and went to Buchenwald.
Unfortunately I don't have much time to write with a newborn.
All the best,
Mara

Hello,
i hope that some more people read this, as I believe it is truly a great place to discover all the areas in the world where people are working with the light, to share what we see and to help and support those that do good work.
Diamond Jim, why don't you share your list, as I am sure you must have one, with us in the hopes that more people visit these boards than post here.
I will add to it too over time when more people join this discussion threat.
Love and light,
Mara

Well Mara . . . one the books that I think may help a seeker to expand their thinking about the historical origins of the jumble of traditions that is christianity is a small book entitled the Gnostic Gospels by Elaine Pagels (based on the discovery of ancient papyrus at Nag Hammadi in 1945). The book that makes almost no assumptions about spiritual dogma yet provides the most compelling evidence that matter is but a small detail in a universe of light is 'Hands of Light' by Barbra Ann Brennan. (subtitled A Guide to Healing through the Human Energy Field). The 'Ringbearers Diary' by Peter Kjærulff is unmatched in its direct description of the interaction of the energies of the 'light' and the 'darkness', this book will be available in English very soon.

Your baby is very young . . . isn't it magical . . . unconditional love I mean . . . their eyes look at you and look through you. Hold the child close to you and sing, this is your time of joy (exhausted joy, I know, I am a father two children myself).

Thanks for sharing some of this joy.

Hello again,
oh yes how wonderful he is my dear son, and such boundless joy and love, I sing to him all the time.
Here is another book I would like to share, the collected writings of 'Peace Pilgrim', a woman who walked back and forth across the USA with nothing but her clothes and a touthbrush and an unerring faith in God, talking to people and changing their minds and hearts sometimes just by her pure, light-filled presence. I find her words increadibly inspiring. Unfortunately I loaned out my book to someone I lost contact with and did not have a chance to replace it yet.
It is one of the books of choice for people I feel are not quite ready for TTL. You can feel in all she says that she is in spirit so close to God and so pure of mind and heart that her words ring very true.
Love,
Mara

I can sense the 'atmosphere' of this person's presence (the Peace Pilgrim) . . . I have met such people myself. They live their lives "inside out" . . . they see the material world as a simple fact of a much larger spiritual one. Thank you for suggesting it . . . how many times have I given away all my copies of TTL. :-)

In another "room" of this cafe a writer (Colin) has pointed out (truthfully) that the path we walk is millions of years long. This thought caused me to think of children, to think of explaining the concept of aeons to them . . . and how they trustingly listen with wide, wide open eyes and then leap up to play with a toy or chase a flying insect . . . life goes on.

our children, their world

I had a look at your dialogue, and to my delight found the reference to Peace Pilgrim - recently I stumbled over her as well, and found her to be very inspiring. A book called 'PEACE PILGRIM - Her Life and Work in Her Own Words' is available from Ocean Tree Books - and a search on the web will lead to a number of pages (www.peacepilgrim.com for instance). I am considering making a small home-page about her. Among other things, she understood that we re-incarnate (she talks of our body as our clay-garment) - and she understood that you cannot fight darkness with darkness - her principal message was simple: 'This is the way of peace - overcome evil with good, and falsehood with truth, and hatred with love.' Words that she started spreading out to her fellow americans in the fifties, during the corean war, during the McCarthy era. She must have been an absolutely shining person.
